Set in Taisho-era Japan, Demon Slayer follows a kindhearted young man named Tanjiro whose life is destroyed when a demon murders his entire family with the exception of his little sister Nezuko. However, even though Nezuko survives, Tanjiro discovers she has been turned into a feral demon herself. After resolving to not lose another family member, Tanjiro manages to place his sister in a crate he then lugs around with him as he attempts to find a cure for his sister and get revenge on the demon who killed his family. The series originally ran from 2016 to 2020 and features 23 volumes.
