FYI new gameplay trailer releasing in 15 hours
Tomorrow (Dec 29th, 2022 2pm Eastern)
Super excited.
I am always imagining this game to be ultra immersive. If it disappoints in this department, i'll be real sad even if the game turns out to be great.
My expectations are low. I am ready for extremely low console FOV footage with guns attached to ears, controller friendly inventory UI and immersion breaking cut scenes. Im hoping for none of that and instead being suprised with something I can legit look forward to.
@hardwenzen:
It wont be beter than Stalker 1.
It will be better than Vanilla stalker 1. With mods, if supported, it has a very high chance of being even better.
I'm looking forward to this game and a new trailer gives me hope of a 2023 release, though with the shit going on in their country I'll be happy just to play it whenever it's ready.
Not on PlayStation

its hard to surpass STALKER 1. it will be lucky if it even as half as good as STALKER 1 let alone better.

Stalker1 is good because of mods. Vanilla stalker is a clunky mess. There is no way that Stalker2 without mods won't be better than Stalker1 without any mods. And as for mods, if Stalker2 supports modding as much as the original, why exactly won't it be at least on par? It will be a much bigger game, their budget for everything is also significantly bigger (assuming). And while i don't know the dev, they'd be very stupid to make this a casual ass fps knowing that their core fanbase, the ones that were destroying their pr for NFT's, are not casuals.

should be like Prey 2017.
being very old school still.
Hate to be a cynic, but my hopes are absolutely nil.
Predict it’s going to be a cinematics filled scriptfest with COD and Battlefield gunplay, something I’m not necessarily opposed to depending upon the genre, but something that is antithetical to what STALKER is and what makes it great.
But, bring it on.

Same boat. Want it to be great, but the threat of Fear 2/Bioshock/Crysis 2 looms heavily.

20 year old games lol.
why not look at Prey and System shock remake (based on demo)?
Wartime game development be like: drowning out the air raid siren with the sound of a harp within the bomb shelter. #unbreakablepic.twitter.com/6o7AOtBtW5

Making game in a time of war.

Even if there is more cinematic walking and such, its most certainly gonna be main campaign focused, and since this is supposed to be a massive open world game, you still have a ton of content without any kind of "Sony-style" gameplay. There is simply no way that this developer has enough budget to make this whole game "cinematic".

This will be Deus Ex Human revolution. dumbed down but still masterpiece to Original STALKER 1 that is Deus Ex 1 the best game ever made.

Which is perfectly fine, and no reason to bitch about it.

yes but people will bitch about it because 25 years ago when those 40 years olds were 20 year olds. they were disappointed by Crysis 2 (yeah Crysis 1 was not even true PC game example too).

Crypto bro checks out.
The first thing that hit me was that it shouldn't have been presented in English.
Publishers probably think we are uncultured dumbasses who can't read, but I think presenting it in English was detrimental.
I like the "made in Ukriane", seems like a little prideful **** you to Russia, which totally down with.
Still not sure what to make of the gameplay. Looks like it may have heavy use of in-engine cutscenes now taking control away from the player and possibly enforced holster, which def not a fan off.
Inventory confirmed Thank goodness.
other than not much impressed. didnot like cutscenes. it works in Metro but not in STALKER.
so my prediction was right.
it wont be better than STALKER 1!!!!.

yeah mixed feeling.
excited to play STALKER in zone and gameplay (not cutscene) looks fantastic with inventory management. but cutscenes not a fan.
I dont mind it in METRO but please stay away from STALKER!!!!
@ghosts4ever: I think we need to see unfiltered gameplay than snippets to get a better idea.
I mean, I get it, they probably think disgusting, abhorrent console COD/Halo plebs need flashy shit to get their pantaloons damp.
But that's really not what makes Stalker good.
Not writing this off yet but at the same time not particularly hyped as have extremely bad blood when it comes to PC games appearing on consoles. They practically raped the Tom Clancy name with console reviewers clapping their little hands together "OHHHH VEGAS, GEARS OF WAR WITH TERRORISM HMMM NUMNUMNUMNUMNUMNUMN"
That was a crime.

it sitll have inventory management, freedom, RPG elements, anomalies, weapon jamming.
now further thing will be more fix by modders.
@hardwenzen: That's what I was thinking. Getting more Metro vibes.
Metro sucks. Ghost refuses to admit it, man living a lie.

Metro is masterpiece.
@hardwenzen: Doesn't look like that to me. Still not as a bigger downgrade than Forspoken! 😂
Xbox 2023 will be great and it's about time too.😎
I doubt this is coming in 2023. Would be nice if it did, tho.
Yeah, just as I predicted. It's Metro in a STALKER skin, but not STALKER in the slightest.
It's remarkable that a developer can be so utterly clueless as to what makes the original games so beloved, but I suppose this isn't surprising considering much of the original GSC team has long ago departed. STALKER is great because the world is constantly alive, emergent, and more vitally, entirely indifferent to the player's presence, which is simply incidental to it. It's not a player-focused experience, it's a world focused one. The Zone couldn't care less about you in the original games. Not anymore. Like all power-centric player fantasy games today, the world is crafted and revolves around the player. Instead of creating their own stories and creating immersion by crafting an emergent world, players are hand-led by the developer through a scripted, cutscene heavy campaign that triggers when they enter a certain point, pulling the agency from the player's hands to be "immersive", and, in effect, killing the atmosphere of the Zone and achieving the exact opposite. Downright insulting to the player's intelligence as far as I'm concerned, but such is the state of the industry.
Don't even get me started on the gunplay, the COD curse claims another victim. Have these developers even played current STALKER?
Yeah, this is STALKER in name only, it's otherwise Metro in the Zone. What a disappointment. Well, at least we have the original games with a far superior game design philosophy instead of this garbage that must be designed this way to be viable to current market trends. This is apparently what gamers want.

Yep. Pretty much agree with this, although still on the fence.
Though that may just be a fools hope.

If it has mods support, its very salvageable.
Please let me see the game. Real gameplay, not some shitty walking talking sections. They've got some shit to prove after that previous trailer..
walking and talking section = flop. xbox players don't like movie games.
lol lets see xbox fans defend this.
